Dead Animal Removal
Dead Animal Removal Service
If faced with a dead animal removal from the wall, dead animal smell in the attic or a dead animal smell in the crawl space it is best to contact a wildlife removal company. Most deal animal removal calls we get there are other moving parts to just simply removal the carcass. In many cases there could be several animals living in the attic and there might need to be some squirrel trapping or squirrel exclusion methods that need to be taken.
If there is a dead odor in the wall most likely there was squirrel in the attic or a mouse in the attic that had fallen down in between the two by fours and was stuck in behind the drywall. If this is the case then you would need a drywall knife to cut an exploratory hole to determine if you are in the right area. You will know immediately if you are near the source because the smell will be overwhelming. If you can’t see anything through the exploratory hole, then put your nose close and see if the dead odor intensifies.
The first course of action after the dead animal removal process has been completed is to determine how the animal entered the structure. For instance if you had a scratching noise and it turned out you had animal trapped in the wall you would want to start with an attic inspection. Things to look for during an attic inspection would be disturbed insulation, trails made by squirrels in the attic, animal droppings in the attic, footprints on surfaces such as duct work and any nesting material. By looking for these things it will help you determine if you have a bigger underlying problem than you realized.
